Certainly both private lessons and group classes have their place. I have taught thousands of students in classroom situations and most of them have gotten started getting their dogs under control.
I have switched my focus to private in home training because:
- Private lessons give the dog owner 100% of the instructors attention
- Curriculum can be tailored to the needs of the owner and dog
- Time frame expectations are under the control of the dog owner, not the trainers class schedule
- Practice a little and progress a little, or practice a lot and progress a lot. It’s up to you
- Training can start with minimal distraction which sets both dog and owner up for success
- Your lessons are schedule on an as needed/as your ready basis
- You don’t miss important training because you have a class conflict
- Individual problems can be solved with less stress, and no embarrassment
- Less stressful way to start training for many dogs and owners
- Distractions can be introduced when the dog is ready
- I do the driving for you!
- Home based visits to help you train your dog are just a phone call or email away.
