I’m delighted that you have chosen to investigate my Portland Services through my website.

In Portland, I offer private training services at your home or place of business. In addition, as you and your dog progress, generalizing skills into your local community can be an important part of your training.

I also love “problem solving”; why might “Fido” be doing what he is doing [that is not appropriate in your family ‘Pack”] and what can be done to change it.

My teaching methods consider the needs of the human learner as well as the dog. The general flow of training starts with:

• Establishing leadership (not to be confused with dominance!)

• Setting up a prevention program until new behaviors are in-place

• Teaching your dog to pay attention to you

• Training the new behaviors and responses

• Skills training

Teach uses positive reinforcement rather than punishment.

We also recognize that every dog and every owner form a unique partnership. Your desires and needs will be assessed during your first private lesson. We are committed to addressing what you want from your relationship with your dog.
